Sweet Potato Fry


In this article, I’ll share how to prepare sweet potato fry. 

Sweet potatoes are sweet, starchy root vegetables that are grown worldwide. They come in a variety of sizes and colors — including orange, white, and purple — and are rich in vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and fiber.

Sweet potatoes are a great source of fiber, vitamins, and minerals. One cup (200 grams) of baked sweet potato with skin provides

Sweet potatoes are incredibly rich in beta-carotene, the antioxidant responsible for the vegetable’s bright orange color. Purple sweet potatoes also seem to have vision benefits. Ingredients Required:
  • Sweet potatoes -2
  • Onion – 1 chopped
  • Green chillies – 2 chopped
  • Oil – 2tbsp
  • Red chillies -2
  • Chanadal – 1tsp
  • Uraddal – 1tsp
  • Mustard seeds – 1tsp
  • Cumin Seeds – 1tsp
  • Garlic Cloves – 4 or 5
  • Turmeric-1/2tsp
  • Salt – 2tsp
  • Red chilli powder – 2tsp
  • Curry leaves
  • Coriander leaves
Preparation :
  1. Add cumin seeds and garlic cloves into a mixi jar and grind to coarse paste,keep it aside
  2. Boil water on a stove and add chopped sweet potatoes and cook for 4 to 5mins and transfer them into a strainer
  3. Add oil to heated pan
  4. Add Red chillies, chanadal, uraddal, mustard seeds, cumin seeds, curry leaves.
  5. Add chopped onion and mirchi and fry till onion is translucent
  6. Add grounded cumin and garlic paste
  7. Now add boiled sweet potato pieces
  8. Add salt and turmeric, mix all together
  9. Saute for about 5min in medium heat
  10. Add red chilli powder and fry for 2min
  11. Finally garnish with coriander leaves
