Chicken Curry With Step By Step Pics

Chicken Curry is one of the most liked recipe for many non-veg lovers. This can be made in many ways. The ingredients we add gives different taste to each recipe. This is one of my favourite Process of making chicken curry.

For this recipe I'm using all homemade coriander powder, Jeera Powder, Garam masala, Ginger garlic paste. It tastes good with freshly grounded homemade powders. 

For gravy generally we use tomatoes, but for this recipe, I did not add any tomato, even it is so good with thick gravy. Let's quickly checkout the ingredients and preparation of this chicjen curry.


This can be used as side dish for Biryani's, Roti or chapathi too.

Ingredients Required

  • Chicken - 1/2kg
  • Salt - 1 1/2tsp
  • Red chilli powder - 2tsp
  • Turmeric - 1/2tsp
  • Oil - 3tbsp
  • Cloves - 3
  • Cinnamon - 2
  • Anise Flower - 1
  • Onion - 2 chopped
  • Green chillies - 3
  • Ginger garlic paste - 1 1/2tsp
  • Coriander powder - 1tsp
  • Water - 1/2cup
  • Cashews - 1/4th cup
  • Garam masala - 1/2tsp
  • Coriander leaves
How To Make Chicken Curry

1. Cleaning chicken is the most important part in making chicken curry. Clean chicken by adding rock salt, turmeric and water.


2. Add salt, red chilli powder, turmeric.


3. Mix and marinate for about an hour.


4. Add cashews into mixi jar and grind into powder and keep aside.


5. 1 hour later add oil into heated pan.


6. Add cloves, cinnamon, star anise. Any other spices readily available can be added here.


7. Add onion and green chillies and fry till onions are transparent.


8. Add ginger garlic paste and fry for 3 to 4mins.


9. Now add salt, red chilli powder required for onions, as we already added in chicken and add little turmeric.


10. Mix all together and add marinated chicken.


11. Mix all together, close lid and cook for 5mins in low heat.


12. Water releases from chicken as shown below.


13. Now add coriander powder, water, close lid and cook for 5 to 10mins till chicken is cooked for 90%.


14. 10mins later open lid and add cashews powder, garam masala and cook for 2mins.


15. Finally add coriander leaves and mix all together.


Finally chicken curry is ready to serve.
