Ravva Idly | Sooji Idly | Instant Breakfast Recipe


Ravva Idly -  Rava Idli Recipe that gives you an incredibly light, soft and tasty rava idli. Very easy to prepare and tastes good as well. 

If we don't have any batter readily for breakfast then this is the fastest and easiest way of preparing breakfast. It is made with bombay ravva, with which we generally prepare upma. This can be served with any pickle which we have at home.

Generally in south India, especially in Andhra & Telangana pickles are commonly available in every house. so we can serve with those pickles or coconut chutney,peanut chutney etc..

Ingredients Required

  • Bombay Ravva - 1cup
  • Oil - 2tsp
  • Mustard Seeds - 1tsp
  • Cumin seeds - 1/2tsp
  • Chanadal - 1tsp
  • Uraddal - 1tsp
  • Curry leaves
  • Green chillies - 2 finely chopped
  • Carrot - 1 grated
  • Curd - 1cup
  • Salt - 1tsp
  • Cooking soda - 1/2tsp
  • Water - 1/2 cup
Preparation
  1. Add oil into heated pan.
  2. Add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, chanadal. uraddal, curry leaves and let them fry
  3. Then add chopped green chillies, grated carrot and fry till carrot is fried properly.
  4. Add sooji(bombay ravva) and fry for 4 to 5mins
  5. Turn off the stove and let it cool for sometime
  6. 5mins later add curd, salt, cooking soda and mix all together by adding water.
  7. Get the consistency which we generally prepare idly.
  8. Let rest for 5 to 10mins
  9. Meanwhile grease idly plates with oil.
  10. Then drop batter into idly plates.
  11. Cook idlies for 20mins in between low to medium heat
  12. 20mins later ravva idly is ready to serve.
  13. It can be served with any pickles.
