I mixed drumstick leaves with toor dal, you can add with moongdal too.

Ingredients Required
  • Toor dal - 1/2cup
  • Drumstick leaves - 1cup
  • Onion - 1 chopped
  • Green chillies - 2 chopped
  • Tomato - 1 chopped
  • Oil - 2tbsp
  • Red chillies - 2
  • Mustard seeds - 1/2tsp
  • Cumin seeds - 1/2tsp
  • Curry leaves
  • Tamarind - 1/2 lemon size ball
  • Salt - 2tsp
  • Red chilli powder - 2tsp
  • Turmeric - 1/2tsp
  • Garlic cloves - 3 to 4
Preparation

1. Add toor dal into a cooker. Clean once with water.


2. Add double quantity water and soak for about 20mins.


3. Soak tamarind for about 20mins.


4. 20mins later dal is soaked perfectly.


5. Add chopped onion, green chillies, tomatoes into dal.


6. Then add drumstick leaves also into it. Clean them properly and add.


7. Close lid and cook for 4 to 5 whistles.


8. 5 whistles later dal is cooked perfectly, then open lid and turn on the stove.


9. Add salt, red chilli powder, turmeric.


10. Then add tamarind juice extracted from soaked tamarind and cook for 5 to 10mins.


11. Now curry will be cooked completely.


For tampering

1. Add oil into heated pan.


2. Add red chillies, mustard seeds, cumin seeds, curry leaves and fry.


3. Add into curry and mix.


Finally drumstick leaves dal is ready to serve.
