Pot Biryani | Homemade Chicken Pot Biryani


 Kunda Biryani/Pot Biryani- This clay-pot chicken biryani is a quick version of the classic Indian Biryani. A savoury rice dish made with pulao rice or any normal rice you use daily, Indian spices in a yogurt-based marinade, that keeps this chicken tender and juicy. 

As in the name pot biryani, this can be prepared in clay pot. Very easy and tasty biryani recipe which can be made by anyone like beginners, bachelors. So lets checkout the recipe.

Ingredients Required

  • Chicken - 500gm
  • Salt - 2tsp
  • Red chilli powder - 3tsp
  • Jeera powder -1/2tsp
  • Coriander powder - 1tsp
  • Garam masala - 1tsp
  • Green chillies - 4 or 5 sliced
  • Curd - 3tbsp
  • Ginger garlic paste - 3tsp
  • Oil - 3tbsp
  • Basmathi rice - 1cup
  • Onion - 1 chopped
Preparation
1. Soak 1 cup basmathi rice for 20mins.

2. 
Add chicken,salt,red chilli powder,jeera powder, coriander powder,garam masala,green chillies,curd,ginger garlic paste into a bowl.


3. Mix all together, marinate for 20mins.


4. 20mins later transfer rice into a strainer and keep aside.
5. Add oil into claypot, add whole masala spices.


6. Add chopped onion and green chillies and saute till onions are transparent.


7. Add ginger garlic paste and saute for 2mins.


8. Add chopped tomato and cook till tomato is soft by closing lid.


9. Add turmeric and salt required for tomato and onions as we already added in chicken for marination.


10. Now add red chilli powder, garam masala and mix all together.


11. Now add marinated chicken and mix.


12. Now add double quantity water of rice. I added 1 cup rice so I added 2cups water.


13. Now add soaked basmathi rice and mix.


14. Finally add coriander leaves also and mix all together. At this point check salt in water. If needed you can add it.


15. Close lid and cook till rice and chicken are perfectly cooked. Mix in between the cooking process, otherwise it sticks to pan.


16. Finally claypot biryani is ready to serve along with onion, lemon and raitha.
