Soya Chunks Curry

                                         

In this post, I’ll share how to prepare soya tomato curry.  

It is a popular meat curry alternative prepared very similar to the meat curries with soya chunks or meal maker. It can be ideal gravy curry for most of indian bread recipes like roti and chapati but not limited to it. It can also be served as a side to many indian rice recipes.

Ingredients Required
  • Oil-2tbsp
  • Red chillies, mustard seeds, cumin seeds- 2tsp
  • Curry leaves
  • Onion- 2
  • Green chillies -2
  • Tomatoes-3 puree or small pieces
  • Soya chunks – 1/2cup or based on your curry quantity
  • Ginger garlic paste – 1tsp
  • Red chilli powder – 1tsp
  • Coriander powder-1tsp
  • Jeera powder -1/2tsp
  • Garam masala – 1tsp
  • Turmeric-1/2tsp
  • Coriander leaves
Preparation
  1. Add soya chunks into a bowl and add hot water
  2. Let rest for 15min
  3. Make 3tomatoes puree and keep aside
  4. 15mins later squeeze extra water and keep soya chunks aside
  5. Add oil to heated pan
  6. Add Red chillies, mustard seeds and cumin seeds, curry leaves
  7. Add chopped onion and green chillies and fry till onion changes colour
  8. Add ginger garlic paste and fry till raw smell leaves
  9. Add tomato puree and mix and cook till tomato raw smell leaves
  10. Add turmeric, salt and mix
  11. Close lid and cook for 5mins in low heat
  12. Add red chilli powder, coriander powder, jeera powder, garam masala and mix for 2 to 3mins
  13. Add 1/4th cup water and let them boil
  14. Now add soya chunks and cook for 5mins in low heat
  15. Now curry is ready to serve, can be served with rice and roti, chapathi.
